Nisha Garg asked:

These days, many people can be noticed sharing a common interest of capturing the cherished moments of their lives. They really believe in having special moments of their lives preserved so that they can get back to them somewhere in their future. Its human nature to socialise and one always wishes to stay in touch with his loved ones. He always need someone to be beside him, who can listen when he wants to speak and speak when he wants to listen. He tends to share everything with them.

Gone are those days when people had to spend a good deal of time in sending their images to their relatives. Nowadays, they can, besides sending the pictures to their relatives, simultaneously watch their reactions as well. With the help of modern technology, people have now become liberal enough to send their images while chatting with them.

In this way, the users can save a lot of their precious time. Photo sharing has always been favourite activity of numerous people. Various sites are available on the Internet in which the user can upload photos. But, most of the times, people dodge away this activity. The main reason behind this is the privacy factor. They think that their privacy is at stake as any third person can get into the conversation via illegal means. These days, social networking sites guarantee full safety of the user’s profile and his files uploaded on them. These days, people are provided with full safety guarantee. He gets to have his privacy fully secured.

Today, almost everyone indulges in online communities and also tries his hands at photo sharing. He can safely share his pictures with his loved ones without any indulgence of any undesired person. Moreover, sharing pictures has become much convenient task now. The user is just one click away from his friend or relative and another click away from the photo sharing process.

It does happens many times that the quality of the images deteriorates. But these days people can easily share their images without caring about their quality. This relieves the user from another problem that he may face during photo sharing.

Moreover, the person can also get involved in group sharing very easily. He can share same photos with numerous people simultaneously. He can however, control the amount as well as the entry of people he wants to get involved in photo sharing. Also, the person can also categorise his photos according to the occasion or the event. He can form different albums according to the subject of the photos thus, adding to the convenience of the viewer. He can take the feedback about the photos from his akin then and there.

Photo sharing has gained much popularity these days. It has become a way of showcasing talents as well. People who are proficient at it try to show their work through these networking sites only. Moreover, people who appreciate good work get to see the desired work on uploaded photos. One does not need to put in much efforts to share photos. He just needs to put these photos online and invite the users he wants to show the photos to. The process has been further simplified by the user friendly interface of various sites like AOL, Yahoo etc. Further, his privacy is also secured here. He need not worry about the picture quality and group sharing is an added advantage to this process. Thus, photo sharing has become more of fun than a tiresome job and the editing options like white balance, flip, rotate in some of the site add more excitement to it.

Tips For Maintaining A Presentable Online Photo Album

MJ Johnston asked:

Sharing photos with your family and friends through online photo sharing brings a whole new dimension to your favorite pictures. Thanks to digital cameras and scanners, and of course the Internet, it’s never been easier to share entire albums worth of pictures with just about anyone, from your siblings to your co-workers. If you’re planning to take the time to share your photos online, you should spend a little effort to really make your online album stand out.

Sorting and Organizing

The first step in making your online photo album properly presentable is simply to organize and screen your photos. Most common software packages used for storing and editing photos, such as the software included with many digital cameras, make sorting through and organizing your photos a snap. It’s important to remember that just because you took a picture doesn’t necessarily mean its worth sharing with the world.

While you really want to focus on getting your favorite memories in there, its important not to go overboard. Not only can you save space on your hard drive and/or your online photo sharing account, but those who are viewing your album are sure to appreciate the effort. No one is going to enjoy sharing your memories if they feel like they’re looking at the same picture again and again, or if the pictures are blurry or otherwise poorly taken.

Editing Your Photos

Editing the photos in your album is a great way to really make them stand out. However, before you start doing any editing, you should take a few moments and back up all of your original pictures. While the goal of editing pictures is to make them look better, if you’re still a novice at photo editing you might end up making them look worse. Backing up the original images will let you start over if you make mistakes that ruin, instead of enhance, the picture.

Even if you know you way around your editing software, it pays to have backups. Sometimes, a couple hours or a couple days after making a change, you realize that it just doesn’t sit right with you. Having a backup ensures you can take another pass at it.

Once you’re ready to edit your photo, you should start with the basics. First, you should make sure that the orientation of the photo is correct. Looking through a photo album, even an online one, will get tiring if the viewer constantly has to tilt their head to the side to properly view a picture. Take a few seconds and use the rotate tool, which should be easily found in most common editing software. That will get your pictures oriented in the right direction for easy viewing.

Once that’s finished, you can move on to more advanced editing techniques, everything from cropping to removing red-eye to altering the lighting of the picture. Fortunately, most photo editing software is extremely versatile and user friendly, so making most of these modifications is quick and painless. With a little practice, you’ll be producing wonderful and memorable photo albums in no time.

Selecting the Proper Photo Frames

Susan Slobac asked:

In order to display your photos effectively and attractively while preserving the artifact, it is necessary to select the proper photo frames. Of all your framing and matting supplies, good photo frames are the most important – because it can make or break your display. The right photo framing supplies can do wonders for even a less-than-stellar photographic piece; a poorly made, inferior photo frames can make  Ansel Adams prints look like cheap snapshots.

What holds true about photo frames incidentally is equally true about all types of picture framing supplies.  Factors such as oil, acids, dust and ultra-violet rays can all have detrimental effects on your paintings and posters as well as your photographs. The purpose of framing and matting supplies is to create a protective environment in which to display the artifact. Good picture framing kits include everything needed for such a product, including matboard, mount board, hanging devices, and more.

Photo frames are among the most important picture framing supplies mainly because they are what is most visible. When it comes to photographs – especially those of spectacular panoramas or other interesting subjects – plain, black metal frames may be the best choice. The reasons are that such frames will fit into virtually any décor, and are unobtrusive enough to allow the viewer to concentrate on the photo without being distracted by an elaborate frame.

If you prefer, you might choose photo framing supplies that include wooden frames, and to be sure, natural wood offers a certain warmth that metal may be lacking. Again however, you’ll want to be selective; avoid frames with elaborate inlay work or decoration that may distract the viewer from the photograph itself.

Other than the frame, it’s important that the reset of your art framing supplies be of the highest quality you can afford and be acid-free. If you have ever seen photos with unsightly discolorations, you know what acid can do.  Acid-free photo framing supplies serve as a barrier between the surface of the photo and any acidic surfaces.

Picture framing supplies that you will need in order to protect your photo and display it properly include mount board, backing material and hinge tissue or photo corners in order to hold the photo in place,  and glazing to protect the surface from environmental substances such as dust and UV rays.

Photo frames are just one element in the framing project, the whole of which represents an investment in time and money; however, those things are well spent when it comes to preserving your valuable photographs. After the time and trouble it takes to take and develop good photos, it pays to use the proper photo frames.
