like once i import them, the cyber shot viewer saves it

I came to know that I lost a bunch of photos from my system after formatting my sys. With the help of a data recovery s/w some of those images recovered. Though I am able to see the full image in thumbnail view, when i try to open them with MS pic& Fax viewer, they dint not even with any other application.
Please help me to sort out this problem.

Now I’m using Vista, and the similar program in Vista is horrible. It takes around 15 seconds to make a slideshow, and it plays videos that are in the same folder as the photos.
