I have Windows Vista Picture Viewer. I’m trying to get them on a classifieds website and all the photos must be 150K or less. I tried to crop them but that doesn’t work… I don’t know how to fix them! Please HELP!!
If you see “Paint” (or Microsoft Paint).
(If you don’t see Paint, choose “Choose Program” A box will pop up, find “Paint” (or Microsoft Paint) in the options. Hit ok.)
The picture will open up in Paint.
On the menu bar at the top, go to “Image” and it will drop a list of choices. Choose “Stretch/Skew”.
In this box you only want to change the horizontal and vertical for “stretch” (skew is the bottom two boxes).
If you have a high quality 4-6megapixal camera you’ll need to shrink the picture alot. I’d start with say 30% in each field.
Hit ok.
Your picture will be much smaller. Go to file > save as >
Save the picture to a different name than the one you edited (so it doesn’t save over your high quality photo)
So if picture was DDC18273.JPG you may want to change it to DDC18273small.jpg.
If the picture is a .bmp file (bitmap) when you are naming the file you’ll see the picture type below the box where you put the file name. Change that to “JPEG”. This will dramatically change filesize of your picture.
One of the easiest ways to do this is…
Right click on the photo
Scroll down to ,”open with…”

Irfanview will manipulate pictures every which way from Tuesday. Highly recommended.
